Child Motorcycle Safety

Dear Commonwealth Representatives and Senators

I would like to take a moment of your time to bring to your attention a matter of great importance involving the safety of children in the Commonwealth.  As you are aware, state law proscribes mandatory child seats and/or booster chairs for children under the age of 8 or less than 4' 9"while traveling in a motor vehicle, and mandatory seatbelt use thereafter.  However, you will be shocked to know that there is no law within the commonwealth to protect children being transported on the back of a motorcycle!!  We urge you to please rectify this situation and sponsor or support legislation to prohibit children under the age of 13 from being transported on the back of motor cycles.  Please contact me when this legislation is brought to the floor for consideration.  Thank you for your time and support of this constituent.
